Water Jet Cutting

Water jet cutting that combines a high-pressure stream of water with garnet abrasive can cut through harder materials like metal and glass with speed and precision. Whether you need us to cut steel, ballistic glass,  composites, or something else, Rayco uses a 3-axis abrasive water jet cutter for both prototyping and production. We also provide CNC machining and metal plating and finishing services.

Three-axis water jet cutting from Rayo is fast, accurate, and cost-effective for prototypes and quick turn service. Our gantry-style cutting equipment can handle the larger parts used by the power generation industry, and we can also cut smaller metal parts for quality-driven industries such as aerospace, defense, and medical manufacturing.

From 6-inch thick steel to 1/8-inch glass, our 3-axis waterjet combines easy loading for virtually unlimited part sizes with the latest combination of technology and process speeds. If you can dream it, we can cut it.

Abrasive Water Jet Cutting

With Rayco’s 3-axis abrasive water jet cutter, three degrees of freedom (DOF) support movement throughout X, Y, and Z axes. This precision cutting service can be used alone or in conjunction with our other metal fabrication processes. For example, by removing 85% of workpiece material with the abrasive water jet cutter and then using our CNC equipment, Rayco can save you time and money.

We can cut almost anything!

Advantages of Abrasive Water Jet Cutting

The advantages of abrasive water jet cutting are many and include:
  • No tooling to wait for or pay for
  • Faster setup times because there’s no clamping for fixturing
  • Quick-turn prototypes and low-to-medium production volumes
  • Fine, fast cuts in a range of sizes with support for parts nesting
  • No workpiece distortion, warping, or heat-affected zones (HAZ).
  • Smooth joints and clean edges for reduced surface finishing
  • Dovetail cuts, chamfered edges, and 90° corners
  • Support for harder materials in larger
  • workpiece sizes

Water Jet Metal Cutting

The advantages of abrasive water jet cutting are many and include:
  • Aluminum
  • Ballistic steel
  • Kevlar
  • Plastic
  • Rubber
  • Stainless Steel
  • Steel
  • Titanium

Water Jet Glass Cutting

Rayco’s water jet metal cutter is also great for fabricating glass and ballistic glass. Compared to traditional glass-cutting methods, water jet technology produces exceptional edge quality and requires less post-processing. Plus, the precise, internal cuts we can make just aren’t possible with other types of machinery.
