Rayco of Schenectady serves the defense industry by making military precision components for non-critical applications. Examples include handles, brackets, and cannon components for the U.S. Army’s Watervliet Arsenal. We are a woman-owned company that can help you to meet your diversity requirements on military contracts, and Rayco is seeking to expand to the civilian firearms industry.
Rayco’s multi-axis CNC machining equipment moves a cutting tool in four directions and uses rotary and parallel linear axes to speed operations. Because the tool cutter moves along all of these axes, complete machining operations are possible with a single setup. Multi-axis machining also provides greater versatility and accuracy.
With table sizes up to 120” x 35”, Rayco’s CNC machining capabilities support virtually unlimited lengths.
Military customers and defense contractors also leverage our CNC turning services with bar stock and trust Rayco for time-sensitive projects ranging from prototyping to production machining.
In addition to CNC machining, Rayco provides water jet cutting services at our manufacturing facility in Amsterdam, New York. This cold-cutting process supports a variety of materials that are used with military vehicles, including ballistic steel and ballistic glass. Abrasive water jet cutting can also be used with brass parts for ordinance and titanium parts for military aircraft.
Because we’re a full-service defense manufacturer, Rayco can also provide MIL-C-26074 metal finishing. This U.S. military specification covers the requirements for the electroless deposition of nickel-phosphorous alloy coatings on metal and composite surfaces. Rayco also offers other metal finishes and uses various finishing processes and procedures.
